Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes, we are in network with Anthem BC/BS. If you have an insurance policy that we are not currently paneled with, you may use your out-of-network benefits or self-pay for services. If we do not accept your insurance, then please know that we can provide you with an itemized billing that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network benefits. Mental health services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan.
What forms of payment are accepted at your office?
Payment for services (co-pay, co-insurance, deductible, etc.) is due at the time of your appointment. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check, debit cards, and credit cards. All major credit cards are accepted.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you wish to change a scheduled appointment, Gateway Psychological Services requires that you provide at least 24 hours advance notice (business days: Monday-Friday) by calling our office. Missed appointments or cancellations that are made less than 24 business hours in advance will be subject to a $100 late cancellation/no show fee.
Do you offer Teletherapy?
Yes, during the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are able to offer HIPAA compliant video sessions as an option for those patients who teletherapy is deemed to be appropriate. You will need access to working wifi and a smart phone in order to successfully engage in teletherapy sessions. You will also need access to a safe, private, and quiet space to conduct the session. Ideally the place you choose will offer you confidentiality, or the comfort to speak openly and freely, without the fear of others “overhearing.” Please contact info@gatewaypsychological for more information.
What if I do not have insurance?
I am separated/divorced from my child’s other parent and am interested in having my child evaluated or participate in therapy. Does this impact the therapeutic or assessment process?
In the case of divorced families, Dr. Galford requires that both parents sign the consent for testing and/or therapeutic services and a copy of the divorce decree be provided. If one parent has sole medical and educational decision-making rights, Dr. Galford will need a copy of the court order. Whenever possible, Dr. Galford will seek to involve both parents in the evaluation and/or therapeutic process.
How do I explain the testing process to my young child?
